Paris.

Eiffel Tower

I am completely heartbroken by the news this weekend. I’ve been having trouble processing it all. My heart goes out to all those innocent people today who died for no good reason.

I think it’s important to remember that what happened today in Paris is shocking, but it is sadly commonplace in many parts of the world. Places like Lebanon, Syria and Iraq have also been attacked by terrorists this week, and deserve as much of our support as France does. We should not discriminate with our grief and compassion. Everyone needs help right now.

Many have already started to politicize this issue. Media pundits and writers have used this and other terrible tragedies to expose hateful views on immigration, Islam, and many other topics. If you are someone who is sharing these kinds of opinions please stop. Don’t exploit the murder of hundreds just to make a point. And just remember, for every member of ISIS or another radical group that is applauding this senseless violence, there are at least a hundred other Muslims who are mourning with the rest of the world.
